Choppers’ chopper is grounded

From the Mid-Hudson News Network -
Stewart Airport – The Orange County Choppers’ custom painted helicopter sits locked up in a hangar at Stewart Airport, another casualty of the shutdown of Silver State Helicopters.
Silver State shut down all of its student pilot facilities nationwide last week including the one at Stewart Airport. That operation was opened amid much fanfare last year when the Orange County Choppers’ father and sons team landed at Stewart in a newly painted helicopter for their own use.
They were, in turn, building a custom motorcycle for Silver State. As a trade off, they had the use of the helicopter with its trademark Choppers’ logo anytime they needed it.
Since Silver State apparently went out of business, that bird, with its painted bolts of lightning, sits in a hangar, its fate unknown.
“We don’t know where we stand with that,” said a Choppers’ spokesperson. “It’s a legal issue.”
Other casualties of the Silver State closure are apparently the students, who paid for lessens but may lose their money.
What the heck did they need a helicopter for anyway?
