Ohio Amish Country
My mom's birthday is coming up, so I rode down to Millersburg to take her out to dinner.
The ride down was close to 3 hours and 15 minutes. As I got closer to Amish County, the roads became more and more fun. There were a lot of turns and hills that we don't have up here in NW Ohio.
My mom hopped on the bike in Millersburg, and we rode over to Heini's Cheese Chalet. We shopped for a while and tried a lot of samples.
From there, we rode past the Rolling Ridge Ranch. The Rolling Ridge Ranch is a farm that houses many different types of exotic animals. It's odd to be riding through the country and ride past zebras and ostriches.
We had the broasted chicken buffet at The Amish Door restaurant. The food was really good homestyle cooking.
I dropped mom off at her car and started back home. The sun was setting quickly. Instead of going home on the same two-lane roads, I took the four-lane Route 30 through Mansfield and Bucyrus.
The ride home felt quicker than the ride down, but I was pretty saddle-sore, so I stopped a couple of times to stretch and walk around.
I picked up I-75 in Findlay and hit the home stretch.
It was definitely a long ride, but I see it as preparation for our upcoming 4 day - 850 mile - Michigan Trip.
