2008 in Review

This year has been a great year. We did a lot of things that we wanted to do and some of those things really took us by surprise.

This year started with a couple of unseasonably warm days that allowed for great riding.

Our riding season officially started in April at the Blessing of the Bikes at the Holland VFW Post. We visited places such as the Marblehead Lighthouse, Mon Ami Winery on Catawba Island, several of Toledo's Metroparks, Hudson Leather, and a few local festivals.

We attended the Wauseon DQ's Bike Night a few times a month over the summer and offered some of our merchandise for giveaways.

A couple of folks got new bikes and scoots this year and were able to go on quite a few rides with us.

We attended Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky in June.

In July, we picked up Brain Toniq as our first sponsor. Try a case, you'll like it!

This fall, my wife Susan took the MSF course and got her motorcycle endorsement. Unfortunately, her bike died shortly thereafter. Next year, we're going to shop for a new one for her.

Over this year, we've gotten to know some new friends and motorcycle bloggers from across the state and across the country. Next year, we'll have to try to get together and ride.

When visiting Florida, I rediscovered one of the best places to ride. It's called "The Loop" and is located North of Daytona Beach in the Tomoka State Park.

There were many highlights this year, but these two are the greatest.

While in Daytona Beach for Biketoberfest, I had the privilege of meeting one of my personal heroes, Vinnie DiMartino from V-Force Customs. Watching Vinnie on Discovery Channel actually prompted the creation of this website and inspired me to start welding stuff together again. It was a great honor and will never be forgotten.

This fall we released a four part video series of our 1000 mile road trip along Lower Michigan's West coast. We titled the series "Michigan on Two Wheels". The series has been well received by the motorcycle community. It has been featured on sites such as Rippin-Kitten and the St. Ignace CVB web site. If you haven't seen the series yet, please check it out!

What next year will hold? Who really knows. I'll be happy as long as we get to attend some great events and put a few thousand miles on our bikes.
